So? . . .Where are they?
February 19, 2006
First off, let me say that I mean this as an honest question. I’m not being facetious, and it’s not that I don’t think they’re out there. I’m not trying to be one of those bloggers who have a penchant for dark sarcasm or tyrannical tirades. It’s an honest question. And I’m not trying to propogate some false claim of philosophical intelligence on my part or even trying to play dumb. I’m not dumb, and the question is not rhetorical.
So where are all the silver linings in life? And what are they? How do I find them? Will I know one if I see it? Would you? If every cloud has a silver lining, what makes them so special? Or different from another?
What is the difference between a feel-good, warm-fuzzy story and a tear jerking tale of overcoming obstacles, or between a theoretical debate and an argument with a preschooler? Which of these is of more value, and why?
Why do we need them?
Or do you think they’re superfluous and only for us spineless, brainless fools who need some kind of crutch to get through life?
For a mom with four kids, a husband to please, a business to run, four pets (three cats and a dog), and a well-drained mind and heart, I’m set to start pumping brain iron again.
Care to join me?
